HOST FAMILY DAY!!!!!

I am so excited about our Annual Host Family Day.  As you all know, this year, AuPairCare has made this day even better by having all of the Host Family Day Celebrations on the same weekend in September.  Our group will join up with 5 other Area Directors and their families, au pairs, and children.  We will have food, entertainment, games, and more.  Our big event will take place on Sunday September 26 from 3-6pm at Lake Fairfax.  Please bring a dish to share and we will also be providing lots of yummy food as well!  Please bring any friends/family who may be interested in hosting an au pair.  What a great way for them to meet other au pairs, host families, and me!!!  There is a Double Host Family Referral Bonus offer as well!  Families who refer a friend during the months of September and October will earn a double referral bonus of $400 upon the referred family's au pair arrival!!!!!  So bring your interested friends along!

I speak so fondly of you all and I am excited to have you all join me on the 26th!!! Remember to respond to the EVITE that I sent your way!

Welcome Veronica...better late than never!

It has been a while since I have posted a blog and I have made myself a promise to become better about keeping up with this!  As most of you all know, we welcomed our third au pair, Veronica, in April.  She is from Paraguay and has been a blessing in our lives.  In 5 short months she has become so important to us.  I wanted to share something wonderful that she did for the kids on their last week home before school.  Veronica organized a camp out in the back yard with the kids, and two of their neighborhood friends!  This was not her working hours, she was not trying to impress us (she doesn't need to), this was just Veronica bonding with the kids and doing something special with them.  They pitched two tents, she organized scavenger hunts, smores, movie, and in the morning a breakfast competition....girls vs. boys!  I encourage all of my au pairs to take the extra step with your host kids.  Do special things with them as a "big sister".  This goes so far in building a wonderful relationship!
